Five weekend injury crashes in Ukiah involve motorcycles

Ukiah California Highway Patrol reported five weekend injury crashes, four involving motorcycles. A 14 year old cyclist Bryan Cooper suffered a compound left leg fracture after a curve collision with a car driven by Kerifieth Seigler on Mill Creek Road. Local driver Allan Henderson, 16, was injured when John Peterson, 34, left turned into the motorcycle on S State Street. A non motorcycle crash near Hillside Community Hospital saw Robert Wolcott, 20, ejected from a van on Highway 128 east of Highway 1 with multiple abrasions. Saturday night a motorcycle and passenger, Craig Wharburton, 26, and Sharon Goadsby, 24, were injured when a loose blanket entangled in wheel spokes. David Phelps, 16, Redwood Valley, sustained a fractured leg after skidding into a car driven by Rickey Carley, 20, Willits on Tomki Road. All victims treated at local hospitals.

OA named in suit filed by couple in Mendocino County

Wollman and Marjorie L. agen of the Sanmeruading dane file suit in Mendocino County Superior Court seeking recission of a seven thousand agreement. The couple contends parcels of five acres or more were misrepresented and seeks return of 4500 dollars plus interest and costs. KOA allegedly refused recission on June 29 of this year.

U.S. jets strike Paul Doumer Bridge in Hanoi Haiphong raids

UPI bulletin says jets knocked out three spans of the mile long Paul Doumer Bridge linking Hanoi with Haiphong during Sunday raids. South Vietnam reports the loss of more than 70 helicopters at Bien Hoa Airbase in the same period.

Iverson Landing brush fire containment achieved

A 108 acre Iverson Landing brush and timber fire south of Point Arena was sparked by winds from a debris burn. Firefighters reached containment by early Sunday after starting at 1:34 p.m. Saturday. 199 personnel and 61 pieces of equipment fought the blaze at its peak. Two outbuildings were destroyed and aerial support from Ukiah and Fort Bragg crews aided the response.

Northwestern California shows mostly stable conditions through Tuesday with a cool spell. Fort Bragg expect 64 today dropping to 36 tonight and back to 64 Tuesday with scattered mountain showers possible in the afternoons and evenings. Ukiah tops 80 today with 44 tonight and 60 Tuesday.
