Fresno firms bid to build coast Highway 1.0 section
Two Fresno construction companies Earl Parker Inc and Thomas Construction submitted a joint bid of 2 293 277 for a coast Highway 1.0 section from Russian Gulch to north of Jughandle Creek. The project adds 12 miles of modern highway, includes a 150 foot high Caspar Creek bridge and 4 4 miles of new alignment, removing hairpins and a wooden trestle. If weather permits, completion is targeted for summer 1966.
