Hathaway protests AAC consolidation in county meeting
Circuit Judge Galen Hathaway, head of the Alcoholic Advisory Council, urged merging AAC with the Mental Health Advisory Board and Drug Abuse Committee, arguing alcohol problems are not purely mental health issues. Dipman defended the AAC while noting past costs and changes to membership rules. The board later approved the 1977 78 alcohol plan despite funding disputes with MAP and calls for a broader program evaluation. A skunk possibly rabid was killed on Fairview Avenue, with residents asked to monitor pets and report abnormal animal behavior to the health department.
