Crocker submits low rate on Ukiahi bonds

Crocker National Bank bids 6.035 percent to sell 5.7 million dollars in Series 1976 lease mortgage bonds for Ukiah high school financing. Bank of America and United California Bank also bid, with totals to fund Phase II locally funded portions. Sale expected to close late this month. total project cost slightly over 10 million.

Ford urged to clear name over Watergate probe links

Rep. Elizabeth Holtzman urged Attorney General Edward Levi to settle whether President Ford testified truthfully about Watergate before the election. She pushed Special Prosecutor Charles Ruff to investigate claims Ford tried to halt the Patman investigation at Nixon White House request. Ford testified he tried to prevent the probe but had no recollection of White House talks. Ruff said evidence to prove obstruction is unlikely.
