Oil giants hike prices in liquified petroleum gas
Washington reports that Texaco Gulf Phillips Cities Service and others raised liquified petroleum gas prices after promising to honor the Nixon wage price freeze. Analysts say the move could amount to about 110 million in windfall and may raise antitrust concerns. The Nixon administration says it has not approved the hike and is reviewing court action.

Two Accidents Cause Driver Injuries In Ukiah Area
Two one car crashes left drivers injured Friday evening and Sunday morning. Eulogio Lopez 50 of Ukiah lost control on East side Road near Milani Drive south of Talmage and hit an oak tree causing major damage and minor injuries. Friday at 5 30 p m James Harvey 22 of Santa Rosa failed to negotiate a curve on the Ridgewood grade between Ukiah and Willits struck a guard rail overturned and sustained minor to moderate injuries. He was taken to Howard Memorial Hospital. The chief justice of the Supreme Court acts as presiding officer when the Senate tries the impeachment of a U S president.

Galen Thornton, 24, of Ukiah, was sentenced to one year in county jail by Judge Arthur B. Broaddus after a guilty verdict in County Superior Court on attempted sale of dangerous drugs possession of dangerous drugs and possession for sale of dangerous drugs. The probation officer had recommended no jail term and no probation. Charlie Thomas, 24, of Ukiah, was convicted on two counts of assault fined 750 placed on six months probation and ordered to reimburse Masonite Corporation for truck damages from the recent strike.
