USC Tops College Football Poll With 8-0 Run

Southern California earned near unanimous top billing in the UPI coaches poll after an 8-0 record following a 31-12 victory over California. Purdue also received a first place vote as other Top 10 teams shifted positions with Oregon State upsetting UCLA and Notre Dame climbing. Minnesota and Alabama shared 10th place after decisive wins.
