Two Suspects Sought In Hit Run Head On
State traffic officers pursue two young men who fled after a head-on collision on Highway 175 near Hopland. A Daly City couple, Ora and Helen Sanders both 62, were injured and hospitalized. The incident began at 5 25 p m with the car struck on the wrong side of the road. A third party later identified as Remiro Mendoza Figueroa, 23, arrived at Hillside Hospital with facial lacerations and claimed to have been a passenger in the second car. Investigations continue and no arrests announced.

A 33 year old Ukiah logger Harley Ray Rosenthal was found pinned under a 40 inch log after it rolled on him while he finished sawing. He died at the scene near Hayworth Creek off Sherwood Road west of Willits. Anker-Lucier Mortuary in Willits handles arrangements for his widow Marjorie Rosenthal.
