Curry, a former Ukiah Daily Journal photographer now in Marysville, filed a claim against Mendocino County for $100,000 citing false arrest, lost property, and personal injuries after being arrested for alleged contempt of court while photographing outside Ukiah Justice Court. About 25 000 people attended the three day Festival of the Sizzling ’70s in Ukiah. The Mendo Lake Pomo Indian Council won best parade entry with a papier mache eagle float. Ukiah Elks Lodge and Business and Professional Women won top float prizes. Various booths and vehicle entries received honors in multiple categories.

Belgrade Jet Crash Kills 78 British Tourists
