Redwood Valley water loan vote set for May 27

Redwood Valley County water district voters decide on a U S loan not to exceed 4.8 million dollars for a water system project serving lands within the district. The measure, under the Bureau of Reclamation, is not a bond election and requires district and federal approval.

Potter Valley Festival Promises Homespun Country Fun

Potter Valley hosts a weekend festival with a balloon launch by Mick Vale, a noon parade led by Denise Dooley and a coronation for the festival queen. Saturday features races, games, crafts, a country auction, pony rides, a barbecue, and dancing. Pomolita Band Tops Healdsburg FFA Fair Parade

Pomolita Ukiah junior high marching band led by Drum Major Diana Thompson scored a clean 67, highest among both high school and junior high bands at the Healdsburg FFA Country Fair parade. The judges praised discipline and sound as 70 members and 20 banner girls impressed, while Ed Singer’s group looks to improvements ahead of the Ukiah Band Review.

Laos evacuation step up as U.S. flies out wives and children
