Elementary School Teachers Win Substantial Pay Increases

Uniah Union trustees approved substantial salary schedule increases for principals teachers and classified staff after the Unruh bill passage. Superintendent Jack Simpson said the district would gain about 36000 in revenue for 1964 65 and the elementary budget would near 1120707. The plan set a 5000 starting salary with a 200 increment and proposed a 100 across the board raise to align schedules. Trustees weighed two other proposals including added steps for principals and expanded raises for classified workers.

County Administrator On 'Trial' By Board

Mendocino County Supervisors debated the county administrator budget, near unanimously opposing a salary increase from 12000 to 13200 while questioning authority and the form of government.
