Hottest May in many years across Ukiah area
Ukiah Fire Department weather staff reported Thursday May 17 as the second hottest early May day in 49 years with a high of 101 at the official firehouse station. The record early May heat last surpassed was 102 on May 15 1927. The heat is forecast to draw large weekend crowds to Lake Mendocino Lake Pillsbury and Clear Lake areas.

Seventh annual quarter horse show attracts entrants from coast to coast
Horses arrive from the west for the Redwood Empire Quarter Horse Association event in Santa Rosa.
