Ukiah Board eyes 1973 fall school bond plan
Ukiah Unified Board of Education urged Supt. Murphy to begin groundwork for another bond or tax increase election possibly in October 1973 to fund a new high school and renovations. The district plans Yokayo school expansion, double sessions, and long range master plan including renovations of Ukiahi, Pomolita, Calpella, Potter Valley, and Redwood Valley facilities.

Lost boy found safe but hungry
A 27 month old boy, Karl Freer, was found alive and unharmed 27 hours after disappearing from a commune school in northwestern Mendocino County. He had wandered about three miles from Whitethorn and was located by a 14 year old searcher near Whale Gulch. He was hungry and thirsty but in good condition.

District seeks land for fairgrounds for interim college space
Mendocino Community College District trustees rejected a 314,637 state lease for Mendocino State Hospital and moved toward Oak Manor school and the 12th District Fair Board for portable classroom space. Superintendent DeVries and business manager Robie were authorized to negotiate rentals and advertise relocatable classrooms, eyeing about 50 units of 10 by 30 feet.

County board approves funds transfer to cover copying costs
