Ukiah City Bowling Championship Due April at Yokayo Bowl

The Ukiah Men's Bowling Association announces its first ABC sanctioned City Championships set for April 6 to 12 at Yokayo Bowl. Only association members may enter, with a March 30 deadline and a $3.25 entry per man per event. Prize funds, fees, and rules detail handicaps, averages, team entries, and contact John Finnegan at 718 S State St. for entries or questions.

Wards Boosted to Tie in Tuesday Bowling Night

In Tuesday league action Finnegan rolled a 600 set as Ukiah and surrounding teams posted highs and led by strong showings from Davis Emerson and Closé. Individually notable scores included Finnegan 600, Closé 585, and Davis 469 amid a 4-0 loss for City of Allah No 1 to Fabric Lane with various players posting 170s and 190s.

St Bernard's Varsity Baseball Set To Host Ukiah Saturday

Ukiah high's Varsity baseball team hosts Tamalpais today at 4 PM in Anton Stadium. The next day St Bernard's of Eureka visits for a 2 PM game at Anton Stadium as Ukiah aims to rebound without Ralph Maize who is out with an infection. Coach Ruben Beseda may start Eddie Turner or Igor Lynch with Moulder in line for relief tomorrow.

Firing Begins as Ukiah Pistol Club Revived

The Ukiah Pistol Club reopened with rules for range conduct and officers appointed. Members and prospects meet weekly at the Ukiah Rifle and Pistol Club range on Vichy Springs road for slow fire, timed fire and rapid fire practice. Dues are 15 dollars annually with visits possible at 1.50 per month, and shells and targets cost modest rates.

Moschetti Sets New Team Record at Ukiah Bowl

Ukiah High Golfers Upset Montgomery In Santa Rosa

Ukiah High School golfers upset top North Bay League Montgomery 8-7 on Flamingo course. Don Crawford rallied from two down on the front nine to win three holes on the back nine for a 2-1 margin. Daryl McClendon and Mile Hill added three points each in early season matches. Bill Thornton and Chris Phitbrick rounded out Ukiah’s lineup as Montgomery, a leading team, had started strong with three wins in four.

Ukiah to form Junior Rifle Club for youths 12 to 18

Tonight at 7 at the Ukiah Rifle and Pistol Club range, boys and girls aged 12 to 18 will organize the Ukiah Junior Rifle Club. Officers will be elected as they draft bylaws and dues plans under supervision of Don Scotto and Ukiah club instructors.
