Ukiah Council approves two year concessionaire renewal
Ukiah city council approved a two year renewal of the concessionaire contract with the same church group that ran stands at Giorno Park and the Ukiah Swim Center. The contract expires in December 1972 and staff recommended renewal after the group fulfilled commitments to provide refreshments at Anton Stadium complex and Ukiah Swim Center events.

Redwood Valley 1 driver hurt in head on crash
A Redwood Valley man, 26, Jack Michael Blandford, was described as in satisfactory condition after a head on collision on Highway 101 north of Squaw Rock. His southbound car struck a northbound vehicle driven by Phyllis Ann Michaelson with Enid Ambrosini as a passenger. Ambrosini and Michaelson had satisfactory conditions with minor injuries for Ambrosini. Blood was flown from Sonoma County to Ukiah for Blandford. Police say Blandford attempted to pass another southbound vehicle when the crash occurred near a sharp curve.

Three injury mishaps under investigation by CHP
