Missing link testifies in bison case at Eureka trial
A 32-year-old drifter and former Bell Springs Ranch foreman testified he warned three defendants in the August 1974 bison shooting on the ranch. Lawrence Duke Andrews said he told them not to shoot the bison as they belonged to a coastal owner and warned of possible bulls attacks. The trial of six Eureka men continues after a cross examination hearing was held.

Salary adjustment ordinance before supervisors Tuesday

Light Snow Falls in Mendocino County and Lifts Chains
Mendocino County saw light snowfall late Sunday and again today as the snow line dropped below 600 feet and then to sea level. By noon all chain requirements were lifted and roads were open. Ukiah Valley reported snow while Willits and the north county received heavier falls. Weather officials warn of continuing rain and snow through Tuesday and urge travelers to use chains when driving north.
