Jaycees Take Lead in North Ukiah Little League Race

The Ukiah Jaycees moved into sole first place in the North Ukiah Little League standings with a 5-3 win over The Chefs after a big final inning. Ed Connolly tied the game with a single and a later homer by Jack Orme capped a rally that erased a 3-0 deficit. Earlier, Ukiah Cleaners beat Lions Club 8-6 as Jay McAllister hit his first Little League homer, and Carr led the Cleaners with three doubles while Lions committed seven errors.

Miss Spork Prodigy Excites Palm Springs Golf Scene

A 9 year old former Michigan women's collegiate champion, Miss Spork, performed at Tamarisk Country Club and Ukiah Municipal Golf Course, drawing headlines.
