Johnson to Meet Hussein in White House Diplomacy Round
President Johnson will meet King Hussein of Jordan at the White House on Wednesday for a new round of personal diplomacy at the summit level to seek a solution to the Mideast crisis. Hussein, in New York for the UN special assembly, will be the first Arab leader to discuss the war since it began June 5. The White House said the meeting follows Johnson's Glassboro summit with Kosygin and will address Israeli withdrawal from Jordanian territories west of the Jordan River, aid to Jordan, and the push for direct peace talks and borders. Hussein warned the UN that the war could resume if Israel is not condemned and Arab lands restored. Continued on Page 8.
