Mexican travelogue and seascape art by Frank Jones
Frank Jones, famed seascape artist, presented a Mexican travelogue to over 50 attendees of the Mendocino County Art Association. The program blended photographs with descriptive narration, capturing shorelines, boats, sunsets, and historic and modern Mexican scenes. Jones emphasized mood over painting, noting his slides depict motion of the sea, and featured his wife Mrs. Jones as a frequent model.

Richard Stutsman of Ukiah and Walter Hadlow of Fort Bragg were honored as youngest and oldest fathers at a Pomona Grange meeting in the Garcia Grange Hall Manchester. Mike Compton presided as Pomona Master with plans for June and July Grange events including picnics dinners and a 7th Degree class. Ethel Hinds of Redwood Valley Grange won third in the State Grange Sewing Contest.

KU Graduate Visits Parents for the Summer
Carlen R. Jupe son of Mr and Mrs V A Jupe 1501 Linda Vista Drive is spending the summer with his parents after graduating from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Science degree. He was part of a May 22 class of 4000 and on May 23 received his commission as a lieutenant in the U S Army. He will report in October to Fort Benjamin Harrison Indiana in the adjutant general's corps.

Xi Beta Tau installs new Xi Beta president in 1972
Connie Garzini was installed as president of Xi Beta Tau, the exemplar chapter of Beta Sigma Phi. Also installed were Jeanne Neilson as vice president Maxine Deetz as recording secretary and Dixie Paravicini as treasurer. Other officers included Helen Marcheschi and Bonnie Johnson. Corsages were exchanged with retiring president Mrs Neilson. Deetz named girl of the year at Founders Day dinner with Beta Sigma Phi chapters from Ukiah Willits and Lake County. Summer barbecue planned July 15 at Sharon Ruddick's home with husbands invited cocktails at 7:30 dinner at 8. Attending installation were Jacquie Hoehl Janice Abert Marilyn Butcher Sharon Ruddick Jo Ann Aldine Viola Richardson Iris Holland Lucile Stegemann and Evelen Townsend.
