NBA pension plan offers 600 month to 10 year vets at 66

Chicago providers and NBA owners approved a plan giving 600 monthly pensions to about 120 players on active rosters as of February 2, 1967. Eligible players receive retroactive benefits to their start date, with lesser pensions for early retirement at 50 and third season participants, plus disability and 20 000 insurance. The fund, built by 30 000 per year per club and 400 yearly player contributions, bars benefits for contract breaches or jumps to the ABA. The old 225 monthly at 65 plan is folded into the new program.
