Pomolita will graduate its largest class, 309 students, in ceremonies Wednesday at 8 p.m. in Carl Purdy Hall at the 12th District Fairgrounds. The program features student speaker William Hyatt, topic briefs by Pamela Trumble and Marette Lode, conductor Duane Thompson leading the band, and diplomas presented by Frederick Campbell with an invocation by Rev. Ronald Treibel and benediction by Rev. Travis Hyatt.

Rotary Launches Boy Scout Fund Drive Tomorrow
Ukiah Rotary Club members will spearhead the 1964 fund drive with a noon meeting tomorrow at the Palace Hotel to officially launch the campaign. Carroll Orn ham directs leadership and Walter Eversole handles special gifts for Yokayo Council of the Sonoma Mendocino Area Boy Scouts of America. Funds support Navarre summer camp camporees and other Scouting activities.

Elks Award Judy Gill Receives JFK Scholarship
Judy Gill of Ukiah receives the John F. Kennedy scholarship from the Ukiah Elks Club announced by Exalted Ruler Tim O'Brien. The award was presented by Charles Myers of the Youth Activities Committee. Gill, a 1964 Betty Crocker Homemaker of Tomorrow recipient, plans to study nursing at the University of San Francisco after graduation from Ukiah High School on June 11. She will work over the summer at Terrace Gardens with friends Linda Franz and Cindy Compton.

Calpella Voters Decide On Union School District
Calpella residents vote Tuesday 7 am to 7 pm at Calpella Elementary on forming a union school district with Redwood Valley. A simple majority passes announced plan, boards to cooperate next year to ease crowded classes, with full union in 1965 66. If Ukiah district unifies this year the union does not take effect. If not, Calpella may be governed by the RV board if joined by vote.

Masonite workers reject Teamsters bid in tight vote
Masonite employees voted 198 to 172 Friday to reject a Teamsters Union bid and stay with the Pulp Sulphite and Paper Mill Workers Union. Five indicated no preference among 390 eligible voters. Previous 1962 vote margin was 219 to 146 in favor of staying with the same union.

Seat Belts Save Ukiah Girls In Head on Crash
Two Ukiah girls escaped major injury when their northbound convertible was hit head on by a southbound car on Highway 101 three miles south of Geyserville at 12 01 a m Saturday. Susan Holzhauser 19 and Diane Finn 18 were treated for injuries and a possible concussion. Donald Stra 61 of Santa Rosa, driving the other car, faced DUI citation. Also injured was William Brewer 16. three other passengers unharmed. Both cars totaled.

Rain slick highways caused several injuries as drivers ignored safe following distances and right of way. Perry Dunn, 41, Ukiah, was rear ended on Highway 101 near N State Street while waiting for two cars ahead to move, receiving minor injuries. Dennis Klutker, 20, Ukiah, caused the collision. Four more crashes occurred Saturday on Highway 101 two miles south of Hopland at the East Road intersection near the Hopland bridge involving Joe Wilson, 67, Hopland and Cedrick Edrington, 65, Santa Rosa. Bertha Wilson, 61, was hospitalized.
