Lions and Jaycees Triumph in North Loop Little League

Ed Connolly pitched Ukiah North Loop game where Lions and Ghefs and Jaycees dominated. Connolly threw a no-hit two-run game as Ukiah Cleaners committed errors, while Jack Ormé and Pete Royal contributed three hits. Potter Valley-Pine Browns won 6-2, forcing double header scheduling at Lions Park due to graduation.

Hogan Loses In Playoff To Tom Bolt

In Memphis Tom Bolt edged Ben Hogan by one stroke to win the Memphis Open in a playoff. Littler finished third as Hogan faltered late missing a five foot birdie on the 18th and tuj notching a final 69. Bolt, 41, from Crystal River Florida, racked up 4300 prize money while his wife Mary Lou was hospitalized.

Ukiah Golf Club Winners Over Little River by Five

Ukiah Men's Golf Club defeated Little River by five points Sunday with a 2942 to 2444 score. Gordon Hill was low gross at 69 and Bill Rice low net at 62. Leaders included Jack Mundt 64 Bob Obingon 65 and Judge Fred Goss net. A regular meeting is set for tomorrow at 6 30 p m in the Municipal Clubhouse with Jim Busch noted as chef for the winner.

Olympic Track Trials Tickets On Sale At Stanford

Lake Pillsbury fishing news says fishing is very good with trout in abundance. A local man and his wife caught 40 trout over Friday and Saturday. Weather has been warm and balmy and anglers are bringing in eight to ten fish each. Many catches include 16 to 18 inch trout.
