Light Plane Pilot Sets Nonstop Solo Flight Record
Max Conrad of San Francisco piloted a Piper Comanche 250 from Casablanca to El Paso breaking the nonstop single engine light plane distance record at 6 958 miles. He planned a possible landing in Tucson or San Pedro with a dwindling fuel supply and was escorted by Pasa planes as he passed El Paso.
