Yale appoints Wohlenberg professor of industrial forestry
Forestry expert Ernest T. F. Wohlenberg of Ukiah has been named professor of industrial forestry at Yale University. The appointment, announced in New Haven, is the first of its kind in American forest education, funded by Edward Hines Lumber Co. through the Ehlco Foundation and the Michigan California Lumber Co. Wohlenberg is vice president of Masonite Corp.

Mrs Shirley A Pitner 27 was fined 3000 and placed on five years probation by Judge Lilburn after pleading guilty to forging 2500 in checks as a bookkeeper at Weeks Mill Boonville July 22. She was arrested for allegedly raising a 78 check to 878. Attorney Frank Peters son served as counsel.

Ukiah police report a two car crash on the Redwood Highway Wednesday at 6 30 PM involving Dorothy May Powell of Leggett and Ralph Allen of Compton.
