Chamber function sparks debate at Mendocino budget hearing

Supervisors opened final budget hearings amid debate over whether Mendocino County should be promoted by the Chamber of Commerce or private enterprise. Budget changes included cuts to timber appraiser positions, a new auditor slot, and a public defender budget increase to 86,600 for new contracts.
