Minor Accidents Reported by Highway Patrol
Two minor highway accidents were reported by CHP patrolmen on Thursday. Both incidents caused no injuries and only minor vehicle damage. The first occurred at 4:15 p.m. on Redwood highway south of the old Highway 20 intersection involving Carol Ryan and Lillian Symons, both Ukiah residents, as Ryan entered from a private driveway. The second, at 11 p.m. on Fast Redwood Valley road north of Calpella, involved Rose Mary Hubbard of Redwood Valley and Dennis Murray of Calpella. investigation by Patrolman Bakker continues.

Four Ukiah High senior girls chosen as the 1950s cheer squad depart by 4 40 Greyhound for Redlands University for an intensive training session. Forest officials predicted the 50 acre Eldorado National Forest blaze would be under control later today near Placerville. Reported at 1 p.m. Thursday the fire burned 20 miles east of Placerville between US 50 and Highway 88. Five firefighters remained on the line as four aerial tankers dropped borate solution until sundown.
