Heart Fund Drive supports wide range of health programs
Redwood Empire Heart Association reports 1970 71 funds funded eight two week coronary care training programs stroke and risk factor workshops and smoking cessation clinics across Mendocino Humboldt Napa Sonoma and surrounding areas. A diabetes workshop CPR and public education events trained about 2500 people. The group plans Heart Fund Drive activities for 1971 72 with door to door solicitation on Heart Sunday February 24.

Signs will flash traffic data on Santa Monica Freeway
Los Angeles reports state officials will test 35 electric signs 8 by 30 feet along the Santa Monica Freeway starting next July. The messages will warn of accidents and closures and tie into an $8 million traffic control system with 900 sensors over 42 miles. Motorists can tune radios to receive mile by mile updates.
