The gathering featured festive attire, a decorated tree, fruit cake and egg nog. The next meeting is Jan 8 at Mrs Chaplin Williams’s home.
The fourth annual American Indian children’s Christmas party at Hopland will be held on December 22 at the old Hopland high school gymnasium. Sponsored by the Hinthil Women’s Club, the event begins at 7 p.m. with a program of films and entertainment, followed by a free Christmas dinner featuring turkey and traditional foods. All children are welcome and no child will be turned away regardless of race color or creed.
United Effort club in Ukiah reported a $100 donation to the Community Christmas Effort. At a Monday meeting 90 people registered for a blood bank, 61 pints collected after 28 were rejected. Twenty seven pints went to Jeffry White for bone marrow transplant needs at Sutter hospital. The club canceled the next two meetings due to Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
Ukiah Promenaders square dancing clubs will host a final December workshop on Tuesday from 8 to 10 p.m. at Frank Zeek School 500 Low Gap Road. The event includes free coffee and pie night with Bud Grass calling and instruction for dancers and spectators announced by Margaret Wilcox publicity chair.
