Cal Regents Pay Severance to Axed Professors
The University of California Regents paid full severance and court costs totaling 32870.17 to five professors from loyalty oath cases. Spokesman said the settlements were announced by Dr. Edward Tolman and attorney Stanley Weigel, who represented 21 professors discharged in 1950 for refusing a loyalty oath found unlawful. The five resigned after 21 were reinstated by the California Supreme Court. 16 returned to the university. Tuesday Eve Crash at Oak and Smith Streets

We Are Safe Driving Ukiah Reports No Accidents
