California governor race tightens as Newsom narrows gap
A PPIC statewide poll shows Gavin Newsom leading the governor’s race with 23 percent while Antonio Villaraigosa gains to 18 percent, leaving about a third undecided. Feinstein leads de León 45 to 21 in the U.S. Senate primary. Republicans lag, possibly missing the statewide ballot. The survey surveyed 1,704 California adults, with margins of error around 3.4 points.
