Sheriff Takes Woman Prisoner To Corona

A woman prisoner was taken to the California Institute for Women at Corona by Sheriff B. G. Broaddus with Mrs. Broaddus as matron. Hazel G. Wilkinson pleaded guilty to second degree burglary and was sentenced by Superior Judge Hale McCowen. Mrs Wilkinson, 41, her son Stanley, 23, and Ernest E. Haapala, 41, pled guilty to burglary near Albion Ridge in August and September and were sentenced to state prison, the men to San Quentin. They are from a Siskiyou county family.

Brittingham Funeral Services Set for Sunday

Funeral services for Harry E. Brittingham, noted Potter Valley resident, who died November 30, will be conducted in Zimmerman's Mortuary chapel at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 5. Robert C. Groves will read the service, with music to follow at the Chapel of the Chimes in Santa Rosa.

Marinda Woman Fatally Injured In Highway Crash

Mrs Zoie Wallan of Marinda Humboldt County is severely injured after a rear end collision on Oil Well hill five miles north of Willits. The accident involved a lumber truck driven by M F Tripp and occurred Thursday afternoon. Wallan’s granddaughter Launa Hamson is hospitalized with a broken leg while Mr Wallan and two other children were lightly hurt. No citation issued as police investigate.
