Willits Council approves south area annexation plan
Willits officials unanimously authorize circulation of a petition to annex the Miracle Mile and Shell Lane area at the city’s south end. The plan could bring about a million dollars in revenue, with water service but no sewer. Legal descriptions were provided and circulation requires signatures from about a quarter of the area’s estimated 100 registered voters. Other actions included postponing a proposed license tax amendment, approving a $7000 sewer line and pump house project for Williams and Harrison streets, and disapproving a plan to hook Southwest Sanitary District into the city system.
