Brain-Injured Mike McKeever Dies at 27
Mike McKeever, once a USC football guard and a Trojan star, died Thursday night at a Montebello convalescent hospital after more than a year and a half of brain injuries from a Dec 3, 1965 auto crash. He never regained full faculties and was in a coma. His wife Judy and her father Paul Primrose were at his bedside. their third child was born two weeks after the accident. McKeever’s career ended in 1960 after a brain injury in a game with Stanford. His brother Marlin, an end, also starred for USC.
