Pomolita approves portable classrooms lease plan
Pomolita Union Elementary trustees voted Friday night to lease two American Modulux portable classrooms for three years starting in the fall term. The units will be placed on the south side of the campus, cost about 2 160 per year per unit, with total three year cost around 4 320 plus 900 installation first year. The purchase price would be about 11 059 for the two units after three years, roughly half of buying now. The arrangement preserves Pomolita’s campus for 7th and 8th graders and avoids immediate ground acquisitions, while keeping doors open for future expansion and potential repurposing of the portable classrooms.

Two Ukiah Girls Hurt in Crash Near Cloverdale
Two Ukiah High School girls Vicki White and Doris Mothershed both 16 were seriously injured Saturday afternoon when their skidding car broadsided a southbound vehicle driven by Daniel Shattuck 32 of Beaverton Oregon near Cloverdale. Both girls were taken to Ukiah General Hospital.

Johnny Burnette, 32, the rock and roll singer, drowned when a small rented skiff collided with a high powered boat near Clearlake Highlands. Michael D’Angelo and a 14 year old girl survived, while Burnette’s body was recovered after a lengthy search. Lawton's Mobile Service at State and Scott Streets was relieved of $55 between 8 and 8:30 p m yesterday City Police report. Attendant Ken Kimes serviced a car carrying three men and turned to find one in the doorway. The license number was noted and the cash register showed $55 missing. The car was a 1956 Oldsmobile and the occupants were Negroes.

Model Boy Divinity Student Slays His Family
Police planned to seek a murder complaint against Raymond Goedecke 18 of Chula Vista after he was accused of killing his father Henry 42 and his siblings in a bloody episode. He was to be arraigned in Chula Vista South Bay Municipal Court and transferred to San Diego County jail. Officers said the motive involved long building resentment toward his father and an intent to spare his brother and sister from the same environment. Goedecke reportedly drove to a Lutheran church camp near Mount Palomar then returned.
