Ukiah girl crash victim dies after Highway 20 collision
A 16 year old Ukiah girl Patricia Lorraine Thomas died at Ukiah General Hospital about 90 minutes after a head on crash on Highway 20 west of the Lake County line. She was thrown from a pickup driven by Richard Ford 34 of Ukiah when struck by a second pickup driven by Dane Pennebakker 19 of Yuba City. The Pennebakker vehicle went down a 90 foot embankment. Ford’s vehicle overturned. Ford and 17 year old Barry McKeene were treated and released. Patricia McKeene 38 is in good condition, Pennebakker is in satisfactory condition. She is survived by her parents a brother and two sisters and grandparents. She attended Ukiah High School and was active in Jobs Daughters Bethel 106 and Ukiah Methodist Church. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1 pm at Eversole Mortuary. interment at Ukiah Cemetery.

Two people died in separate Lake County accidents Sunday. A 23-year-old Redwood City man died when a steering rod failure caused a head on collision with a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Stanley David Smith. Smith sustained major injuries. A 59-year-old San Francisco man died after a rear end collision on Highway 29 near Spruce Grove Road. Eldon Sousa died at Redbud Hospital. San Francisco residents James Staton Curley and Derle Curley were involved in a separate incident when a Concord driver stopped to assist.
