Lyle G Williams 21 driver of the truck that overturned spilling a load of logs on the car of Wade H Watts killing him instantly was arraigned on manslaughter charges yesterday afternoon before Judicial Judge W S Van Dyke Preliminary hearing for Williams who is out on 3000 bail is set for Wednesday August 11 at 4 p m Elizabeth 38 and Lawrence 7 wife and son of the victim were released from Howard Memorial Hospital and were scheduled to leave for home in San Fernando today They suffered minor injuries Watts 34 was killed Tuesday afternoon at 3 30 six miles south of Laytonville when a loaded log rig passing him in the opposite direction on a narrow curve tipped over and spilled logs upon his car The complaint alleges Watts death occurred due to gross negligence by Williams
