City considers bringing area into Ukiah to gain water and sewer
Ukiah district head Jack Simpson urged the city council to annex the Washington and Helen streets area near 300 homes to obtain water and sewer connections for a new Southside school. Without annexation the district estimates a $20,000 cost for on site facilities. the council conditioned annexation and utility provision on joining the city. The meeting also awarded bids for curbs and gutters on Pine street and for gas and water mains extensions with low bids from Nels Sundeen Company and Peretz Company respectively.

Follows Too Close Truck Hits Auto at Ukiah Bridge
A rear end collision occurred at the Hensley Creek bridge 2.2 miles north of Ukiah on Wednesday around 4 50 PM. Two women in the car, Edith Santoni of New York and Henrietta Hayes of Oakland, were taken to Ukiah General Hospital with minor injuries.
