Ross Duke Jr. Killed in Covelo Logging Mishap
Funeral services for Ross E. Duke Jr. 44, killed Saturday in a Glenn County logging accident near Covelo will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Covelo, with burial at Plain Grove. Duke, a Covelo resident for 12 years and former Mendocino deputy, was a woods worker and community leader. He is survived by his wife Linda, sons Lindon and Evan, daughters Kathy Seymour and Sharon and Renee Duke, his father Ross E. Duke Sr., brother William Duke, three sisters Lois Lee, Connie Nash, and Carol Fullerton, and a host of relatives. Memorials may go to Crippled Children’s Service, Mendocino County Courthouse, Ukiah.

Drowning of 6 Year Old at Lake Mendocino
A six year old Redwood Valley boy, Teddy Mitchel Primrose, drowned Sunday at Lake Mendocino. He was found floating about 3 feet from shore by Marvin Massey of Rohnert Park, near the south boat ramp, and pronounced dead at Hillside Hospital after rescue attempts. Ukiah fire department and the ambulance aided before his death at 5:12 p.m. Eversole Mortuary handles arrangements.
