Knight held for assault in Hopland bar altercation
Ronald Paul Knight of Hopland Rancheria was booked in Mendocino County Jail on assault with a deadly weapon battery and disturbing the peace charges after an altercation with a bartender at The Keg in Hopland. He is to appear in Ukiah Justice Court to answer today.

Drunk Driving Charges Filed Against San Francisco Man
Albert Kay of San Francisco was booked into the city jail Thursday on charges of driving under the influence and possession of an open container after being arrested at State and Talmage Streets. Also booked on drunken driving charges was Fred Senften of Ukiah.

Ukiah Driver Injured in Rear-End Collision
Houston Willis, 31, of Ukiah, sustained minor injuries when his car rear-ended a five axle truck and trailer driven by William Miller, 35, of Santa Rosa, on N State Street. Miller was turning about 1500 feet south of Hensley Creek bridge. Willis was hospitalized at Ukiah General Hospital by Ukiah Ambulance for treatment.

Mabelle Smith 90 died Wednesday in a Ukiah convalescent hospital. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Eversole Mortuary conducted by a Christian Science reader. Survived by daughter Helen Richardson and three grandsons in Ukiah plus six great grandchildren. Interment in Potter Valley Cemetery. Contributions to Blind Aid Society. Born in Ukiah 1881, lived countywide, married to Harry Smith, longtime Potter Valley resident.
