Superintendent Laporte Injured At Juniarta Mine
Superintendent A. M. Laporte slipped at the Juniarta Mining and Manufacturing Company ore mine last Friday afternoon. He backed from the bank slope and fell about ten feet. He suffered a severe strain of the right leg and now uses a cane both for aid and ornament.

Death of Tyrone elder John Bottger ends long life
Tyrone’s John Bottger, aged sixty four, died at his Main street home after a monthlong illness from congestion of the lungs. He leaves five children, including Regina and Carolina Linhoff, and Anna Bottger, with late wife Hannah having died in April 1873. Born in Eisenbach Saxony he immigrated Oct 16 1869 with his elder son John. A respected German Lutheran, he served as stone mason and later gardener for S. S. Blair. He was affiliated with the Democratic party.

The old Blair street plant was vacated Friday and its incan descent engine and dynamo moved to the Logan street plant. Boilers will follow in days, making three engines and multiple dynamos part of a large electric light setup. Full operation and street arc lighting are slated by November first.

Bellwood fire and Excelsior Hose companies paraded while the Bellwood band and Altoona Sons of Veterans provided music. Rev E J Metzler of Millville gave the presentation speech and Rev J B Stein of Bellwood accepted the flag for the board.
