The United Fishermen's League of Australia urgent asks main fishing centres in America Canada and Newfoundland for nets. Britain cannot supply. gear is rotting and stocks are exhausted. Officials warn of possible serious supply interruption if not resolved.
The Registrar of Co-op Societies post is filled by Freeman Dove who served as Acting Registrar. Dove joined the division in 1939 as a volunteer field worker and began his career with Island Timber Co at Bay D'Espoir. He became Co-op Accountant in 1940 and Chief Co-operative Officer in 1941, later acting as Registrar after McEachern's resignation.

The past week has been cold with temperatures near freezing at night. Winds shifted from east to south, and a salmon sign was reported last week. Two salmon were netted by John Dove of Lower Head. Seals near Crow Head Box were also sighted. Henry W. Stone delivers freight around the Bay to replace the steamer for several trips, with Captain Elliott as pilot.
