A crowd gathered in Corner Brook on Wednesday as four swans two cobs and two hens were delivered to the pound in front of the Glynmill Inn. The birds from the Thames in Hogland were sent for Bowaters manager H M S Lewin by the blog. The swans were transported by truck through the streets drawing a large procession.

Regulation 1 of the Defence (Control of Tea) Regulations 1943 dated December 30 1942 is amended by striking out paragraph f and substituting: ration means two ounces of tea per week for persons over ten years and half an ounce per week for those under ten.
