Meeting of Child Welfare Assn Postponed to May 28

The Child Welfare Association notices a meeting delayed by bad weather last Wednesday. It will convene next Tuesday May 28 at 3 pm in the Court House weather permitting. if stormy, the meeting moves to the following day. All members are urged to attend as the gathering is important.

Shipping News Highlights Bessie Marie and Local Vessels

Aux vessel Bessie Marie, first from St. John's, arrived Thursday with freight for Ashbournes Ltd and others. left for Battle Harbour Monday. Electric Flash landed oil for lighthouses on Wednesday. Bonnie Nell and Netherday brought patients to hospital from the south. S S Clyde arrived Sunday on its Lewisporte run. The I'm Alone went to Lewisporte to pick up freight and return next day from St. John's aboard Cecil Facey, John Gillett, Harry Ashbourne, Walter Wood. Mr H Y Edwards plans Tilt Cove mining arrangements. Manuel's motor boat taken to Fogo for Messrs Bannister House and Perlin. Almond and Geraldine Mary also seen. more to come next issue.

Church Services Across Venues Include Mariners Service

Capt Richard Jones and Mr Piercey the Fish Inspector arrived from L B I. Mrs Stephen Loveridge arrived from St John s via Lewisporte in a vessel. Mr Carl Anstey departed for Grand Falls by Clyde. Several locals including Fred White Bennett Guy Bennett Burton Phillip Anstey left for the Interior. Rev Gill and family from Exploits visited Tuesday, returning Wednesday by motorboat.
