Scroll Saw Group Shares Weekly Toy Workshops
Huntington Beach based OCSSA chapter of the Scroll Saw Association of the World runs monthly toy workshops adding wheels to cars and strings to basketballs. Members, including 10 year old Jadyn Coulter, meet for an hour then rest, eat doughnuts, and discuss tools. The club, with 58 members and five women, supports free kid sessions, newsletters, and a Christmas toy giveaway with 550 toys donated in 2004 to groups including a military facility in Iraq and a shelter.

North Tustin faces fines as water use targets slip
Water district officials warn Golden State Water must meet a 36 percent cumulative savings goal by October or face penalties. October and November saw declines with Newport Beach and other cities missing targets by up to 6 percent. State board head Felicia Marcus notes fall and winter use is typically low. New restrictions snap into effect with even-odd watering days, limited to 10 minutes per station, with fines, flow restrictors, or service halts as potential consequences.
