In Omaha the General Council of Congregational Churches endured a nine and a half hour reading of two years of executive council minutes. Anti merger delegates pressed for reading all merger discussions before the General Council session resumed. The marathon effort drew 300 churchmen in attendance and ended with cheers as dawn broke.
