School District 1 Denied Extra 250000 Budget Increase
The Board of Supervisors rejected School District 1s plea to exceed its 1968-69 budget by 250000 to restore some cuts. District official Robert Morrow argued the overspend would fund freshman classes driver training and interscholastic golf and swimming. The board upheld its prior stance noting the decision stands while Summers said the funds were needed to hire 33 teachers and set a higher base for future increases.
