Rillito Park stockholders were told the track must handle about $4,000,000 annually to break even, with a 1955-56 pari mutuel wagering rise not enough to cover costs. General Manager Jimmy Benjamin cited depreciation, interest, and contract commitments as the loss sources, and noted a $4,000,000 handle needed—about 33 percent more than the prior year.
