Rain checks issued for sold out sale items say Tucson agency
The Pima County Consumer Protection Division rules that stores must provide rain checks when sale items are sold out on sale day. After investigating complaints against a large Tucson chain, managers agreed to clarify policies, adjust ads, place rain check notices at registers, and train clerks to offer rain checks. The chain's name was not disclosed pending action.
