Gas Found In Southern Utah
The Western Natural Gas Co. has brought in a natural gas well in San Juan county Utah with a capacity of 25 million cubic feet daily. The well sits 40 miles southwest of Monticello and north of the Arizona line, to be connected to Needles California by pipeline. Paul Kayser of El Paso Natural Gas Co. said the link will add gas to southern California outlets of Pacific Gas and Electric Co. He expects drilling up to 10 wells in the area to supply the line and notes Western has supplied Phoenix and Los Angeles for years.
