Conservative Jeffers backs 26.7 million Tucson bond plans

Former Republican mayoral candidate Arnold Jeffers told Saguaro Civitan Club at El Conquistador Hotel that conservatives should pass all seven bond propositions and two City Charter changes in the June 26 election. He said $12.8 million is covered by water revenue and state gasoline tax, leaving $9.9 million to be funded by property tax. Proposition 3 would fund street projects with gas tax revenue and support street remodeling through Proposition 4. He also urged a 1 cent city sales tax to fund services for residents and visitors. Jeffers has announced a bid for the Republican nomination for state senator from Pima County.
