Soldier defecture claim shocks Korea front
Pyongyang radio says U S soldier Pfc Larry A Abshier 18 defected to North Korea from a post near the DMZ citing humiliating Army life in South Korea. Officials in Seoul had indicated a possibility he hid in the South. Abshier remains listed as missing. A separate UNC report notes North Korean guards seized a U S Army private and a North Korean worker at Panmunjom, later released after scrutiny.

Resnick Murder Trial To Start Tomorrow
The Arizona Supreme Court cleared the way for the Sam L. Resnick murder trial, with Clemj mie Jackson and four Phoenix associates facing first degree murder charges in the March 1 strangling of 61 year old Albany jeweler Resnick. Authorities say Clemmie Jackson set up the killing though not taking part in the act. the defendants include Jackson’s brother and four others.
